SpotboyE had told you about Alia Bhatt bagging Gauri Shinde's next starring Shah Rukh Khan (Alia Replaces Kat In Gauri Shinde's Next?, June 20). The film, which is a complex love story, has quite a few intense moments.
Gauri, who settles for nothing less than the best from her actors, wanted every nuance perfect before the movie goes on floors mid-January. Considering how demanding Alia's role is, the English Vinglish director arranged a few workshops for the actress which progressed very smoothly- but only till last weekend.
Not that she lacks talent, but sources say that despite repeated attempts, suddenly Alia couldn't grasp the complexities of the situation in a particularly difficult scene which Gauri wanted her to master. Consequently, the Highway actress broke down- not once but twice.
Last heard, Alia was still striving for perfection for the scene in question.
